May Major 500,000 CZK: Tomáš Holman won, Prasátečko second!

On Thursday April 30th, a tournament with a guarantee of half a million crowns took place at the Prague Showdown Chodov. The buy-in was 4700+300 CZK, and the tournament attracted a total of 102 entries – the guarantee barely held up. Thanks to the cooperation between Showdown and PokerTime, the progress of the tournament was followed in a live report.

The tournament started at 6:00 PM, blinds every 25 minutes, and the field included a number of well-known faces from the Czech poker scene.

Tournament Progress

The largest stack shortly before the final table was held by Slavomír Ďuriš, with 943,000 chips. Right behind him was David "Prasátečko" Veselý with 820,000. The final table was set at three o'clock in the morning.

At the final table, Tomáš Holman performed excellently, dominating the chip lead and terrorizing his opponents. Gradually eliminated were: Kim Yoonsoo (9th place), Dominik Kocián (8th place), Marek Vild (7th place), Slavomír Ďuriš (6th place), Daniel Olevsky (5th place) and Rastislav Bučko (4th place).

In the three-handed play, it became very tense – Robert Matějovský was repeatedly all-in and trying to hold on. Holman eventually eliminated Matějovský in third place with A4 against 66. Prasátečko entered heads-up as a big underdog.

In the heads-up, David Veselý sent QT and Tomáš Holman called with K5. On the board 7596A, David did not find help and finished in second place for 89,700 CZK. Tomáš Holman thus celebrates victory and adds 132,500 CZK to his account!
